MSEM Program at JHU’s Whiting School of Engineering

Degree and Certification: Masters of Engineering Management

MSEM Program Orientation: All qualifying students must attend the course orientation program wherein they will be divided into groups to take on the Hospital Ethnography Project.

Training Medium: Hybrid (Online and On-campus)

Students taking enrollment for the MSEM program after Fall 2018, will be able to complete some part of the coursework online through the Home2Homewood technology (coming soon). The technology is available for students in the US and worldwide taking admission for MSEM at the JHU Whiting School of Engineering.

Concentrations: All students must the thirteen concentrations in the MSEM program to complete the course. Depending on the requirements, the students may apply to change one or more concentrations or even enroll in additional concentrations outside this course program offered at the JHU campus.

Admission Requirements and Acceptance

The students seeking admission to the MSEM must comply with the general eligibility criteria to be able to apply for the program.

• The applicant must have a degree in science or engineering concentration to be considered for the selection into the MSEM program
• Candidates accepted both into the Engineering Management program alongside the respective concentration program in Engineering will be able to attend the MSEM orientation program after acceptance
• Must have at least two years of work experience (full-time) in the relevant field
• Candidates with excellent academic backgrounds and professional fields will be given preference
• International students may have to fulfill additional requirements as per the University regulations

About 37% of the applicants are accepted to the MSEM program every session. JHU maintains a standard application evaluation process based on Undergraduate grades, academic background, performance in the professional domain, interview, Verbal and Quantitative scores (150 or higher), Analytical scores (3.0 or higher), and the GRE scores (no minimum score required).

Each class has a group of 10-30 students working on different projects in a cohort. During the fall semesters, the students get to work with others from the previous cohort working on their projects, and coursework and applying to jobs. In all cases, the size of a cohort is limited to 50 students (maximum).
